Room Hire Agreement - Cubby House


The Griffith Community Centre (GCC) reserves the right to refuse any application or to cancel any hire with reasonable notice.

Community NGO’s or not for profit groups take priority over other organisations when hiring facilities/rooms.

Activities other than those auspiced by GCC are not covered by our insurance. It is your responsibility to have adequate insurance cover and provide a copy to us on application.

Payment for the use of the facility must be paid four weeks in advance unless other arrangements have been approved by management.

Cancellations must be made two weeks (ten working days) in advance otherwise monies paid will be forfeited.

GCC must be informed of contact details changes of the hirer using the centre.

Any organisation found to be using the centre without prior approval, will be in breach of their contract and future room hire will be denied.

Set up/cleaning time must be included in the hours specified to avoid booking overlap.

All areas used must be left clean and tidy; all equipment used must be stored correctly.

There is no smoking allowed in the centre.

Always assume you are the last group leaving the centre. Ensure the centre is locked and secure, and that all lights and air conditioning are turned off.

A cleaning fee of $25.00 per hour will be charged if the centre is left dirty/untidy.

The hirer is responsible for the cost of repair to all damage caused to the building and resources used resulting out of the hire, with the exception of reasonable wear & tear.

All amplified music is to cease at midnight on Friday & Saturday and 11pm Sunday to Thursday.

No alcoholic beverages are to be sold.

All EXITS must remain clear and unhindered at all times.

The centre takes no responsibility for any equipment or items brought in and used at the premises.

Hirer is not to use any food items from the kitchen apart from tea / coffee, sugar and milk. Reasonable use of the kitchen is permitted, in line with the limited nature of its capacity.

All material on display must be suitable to all ages and groups. GCC has the right to refuse any material deemed not suitable.

When setting up any area, WH&S guidelines must be adhered to and you must be aware of situations affecting other people’s safety.

Any utensils / kitchen wares, appliances or items used are to be cleaned and returned to correct location.

Garden areas are to remain as they are found.

Children are to be adequately supervised by adults at all times, inside and outside the centre.

Any complaints are to be made to the Coordinator or in writing to the GCC Management Committee.

In the case of an emergency telephone 000 for ambulance, fire, police etc.

If the key is misplaced / or other assistance is required, please telephone the Police Station on 6969 4299 who will in turn contact the Coordinator.

This agreement is made between the Griffith Community Centre


Cost of room hire within 1 day will range between $35 and $100, dependent on the equipment and facilities needed and the amount of time required. Cost will be provided on approval of agreement.
